PACKAGING
Your soap is packaged usually in a diecut box, with woodwool to keep your soap safe. The box is then sealed with paper tape. We try to stay away from plastic packaging. Soap name bands are a light linen blend paper.
* Soap Cakes if they are to be couriered are packed in a diecut box, individually wrapped in tissue paper for protection and nestled in woodwool. The white handle boxes are dismantled at the bottom of the box. these are easy to put together.
If you order more than 4 cakes, these are sent in a cardboard box, with the white handle boxes made up. The cakes inside will have tissue paper around them to protect them in transit. Take the cake out & unwrap it, and place it back in the box.
if your soap is to be gifted, I am happy to put them in individual bags - just send me a message with your order.
* Lotion bars - these come in aluminium tins which are reuseable. If your lotion bar is to be couriered to you, the bar will be wrapped in tissue paper to prevent it being damaged in transit. You can take this paper off before gifting it.

What is cold process soap?
simply put Cold process Soap is a mixture between oils and lye (sodium Hydroxide), when added  together they  go through a  38chemical reaction called 'saponification'. Cold process soap is made without any extra heat added to it, the only heat is through the reaction.

WHAT IS CURING?
there is a high water content when cold process soap is first made, this evaporates over a few weeks, making a harder bar of soap.

WHY IS COLD PROCESS SOAP GOOD FOR YOUR SKIN?
By controlling the oils added to the soap, you can control the amount of lather & moisturising properties of the soap. Natural occurring glycerin in soap is highly moisturising for your skin. Alot of commercially made soaps take the glycerin out of there soap products and add them to other products they make.cold process soaps don't have the additives & chemicals that alot of the commerical soaps have.

HISTORY OF SOAP -
An old story has been told through the generations of a women in 1000bc rinsing her clothes in the river at the base of a hill where an animal sacrifice had taken place. She noticed her clothes becoming clean as she rinsed them in the soapy clay coming down the hill and into the water. it was later discovered that the soapy clay substance was made when the rendered animal fat washed through the wood ashes and into the clay soil.
